May Kaidee's Cooking School
May Kaidee has been teaching Thai cooking all around the world for over 30 years. It all began in 1988 when May started out with her street-food cart in Bangkok.
May describes her food as authentic Thai cuisine that just happens to be plant-based. This means you get all the traditional flavours and don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything.
We arrived at May’s kitchen and immediately felt welcomed in. There was a lot to fit into the 2 hour session so we took no time to don our aprons and get stuck in. We made a Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai and Massaman Curry which all tasted incredible.
We were so full afterwards but still managed to find some room for dessert when they brought out Mango Sticky Rice for us to try.
After the food, the brilliant ladies that worked there brought out traditional Thai outfits and accessories for some of us to try on. They also showed us a traditional way of dancing and May’s father played the ‘Ken’ instrument for us.
Overall it was amazing to learn some traditional Thai recipes and also get to experience some Thai culture and I can’t recommend this class enough.
